The Parkinson’s Life Enhancement Program established
at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas is a day-long meeting between patients,
their caregivers and a team of medical professionals who assess, diagnose,
educate and guide patients on an individual basis. Thanks to the extended
time period and the personalized attention, much more is accomplished
than in the typical setting of a medical office visit. Evaluations can
be more thorough, problems and opportunities more clearly identified,
and practical solutions better integrated into the overall disease management
effort. A board certified neurologist; a movement disorders specialist;
and a board certified rehabilitation specialist lead The Parkinson’s
Life Enhancement Program. This active, one-on-one involvement gives the
program its strong clinical foundation on which recommendations for treatments
and therapies can be based upon, particularly those involving activities
of daily living. Nutrition SG-13 PROTEIN RESTRICTED DIET IN PARKINSON’S DISEASE (N) Elizabeth Sowell - Dept. Family and Consumer Science
